The-Only-Good-Addiction-Is-Love

“The Only Good Addiction is Love” – Sean Taylor

The only good addiction is the seventh studio release from London based singer songwriter Sean Taylor. This album, recorded in Texas earlier this year, sees Taylor continue his successful partnership with producer and multi-instrumentalist Mark Hallman. From first listen it is easy to see what makes the charismatic and amazingly talented Sean Taylor one of the stand out singer song writers of his generation.

The album’s curtain raiser and titular track is a vehicle for Sean’s musical abilities and incorporates some deeply emotional lyrics.   This perfectly sets the tone for what is a moody and soulful recording that marries bluesy reflectiveness with Taylor’s musicianship and honest song writing. The powerful lyrics that grace the songs are accentuated with Style and outstanding musical arrangements.   This is evident on the simmering track ‘flesh and mind’ and continues in, for me, the Albums stand out track ‘Moma’ where Taylor’s unique guitar style is accompanied by Pentangles legendary basest Danny Thompson. The album closes with the attention-grabbing The White Birds, a poem W.B Yeats and beautifully set to music by Taylor. The playing is top notch throughout the album; the song writing is superb and as always Sean Taylor controls his voice with delicacy and power. This album is a perfectly-balance shop window in which Taylor can show off his very real talent and truly is a cannot miss for fans. So relax, slip on the CD and let the music do the rest.
