Two of the acts taking part in Spain are well-known duos, Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman and Katriona Gilmore and Jamie Roberts. The clue’s in the name in that Kathryn and Jamie are in fact brother and sister but otherwise there’s no connection between the two acts.

Among the festival-goers coming to the event are their mum and dad, Carol and Mick Roberts, who were with us last year and this time are bringing their instruments to play in the Costa del Folk All-Stars.

The All-Stars is an assortment of musicians at the festival being put together by Matt Crum, who plays in the ceilidh band Steamchicken. The All-Stars will be making their debut at the St. Patrick’s night’s Ceilidh (March 17) when among the line-up will be Mick Doonan, leader of the Mighty Doonans.
